THE man in charge of combating cross-border crime in Guernsey has urged the island’s trust industry to report any suspicious behaviour.

Phil Hunkin, the head of the Financial Investigation Unit, told Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners members about the work of his department at their September lecture.

Mr Hunkin revealed that the number of suspicious activity reports submitted in Guernsey is far lower than in Jersey and the Isle of Man.

Last year, 627 were received by the FIU in Guernsey compared with 1,854 in Jersey and 1,382 in the Isle of Man.
