‘No evidence’ of vinery occupation
Tuesday 28th September 2010, 2:29PM BST.
THE Environment Department says it has found no evidence to support claims foreign workers were living in greenhouses at Merton Vinery (pictured).
The comment comes a month after the Guernsey Press gave the department photographs of women arriving late at night with bags and a man leaving the St Andrew’s premises early in the morning.
There was also a photograph of an old mattress at the site.
The Guernsey Press had taken the pictures in response to residents’ claims that people were living there.
