Premier Division champions Gremlins fall to defeat

IT IS advantage Gremlin Galacticos in the Image Group Premier Division after Adam Shorto’s snooker side beat defending champions La Villette Hotel Gremlins 8-4.

In the first of four league meetings, there was little sign of what was to come as Martyn Desperques and John Skillett forged a commanding 4-1 lead for La Villette.

The latter trailed Paul Le Sauvage in the early stages of each frame, but came back strongly to take two of the three – the second courtesy of a 44 break.

Desperques was faring more comfortably against Darren Hughes, but defeat on the black of their final frame sparked a run of seven frames for the Galacticos that left the champions in their wake.
