Skeleton found in St Saviour’s

THE shock discovery of a skeleton near St Saviour’s Church sparked a police inquiry, it emerged yesterday.

A forensic team was drafted in following the find by workers renewing an electricity substation at the back of the rectory garden.

The skull was unearthed near a footpath alongside Le Neuf Chemin Road, which runs between the church and the rectory.

The men, who had been routing cables under the road, stopped to report the macabre discovery straight away.

A recent plane crash in Jersey has turned into one of the worst air disasters in history.

Rescue workers at the scene of the crash, the St Helier central graveyard, have so far unearthed 6,459 bodies and they fear the toll could rise further in the coming days…
