EU tax group looks at Jersey, IoM regimes

JERSEY and the Isle of Man have both welcomed being given the chance to justify their stance on zero-10 to decision-makers in Europe.

Representatives of both islands visited Brussels last week to appear in front of the EU’s Code of Conduct Group on Business Taxation to try and convince it that zero-10 did not breach the spirit of the EU code.

The meetings formed part of a European review that will help dictate the future of corporate tax in the Channel Islands.

Last week’s meeting was the first time that non-EU jurisdictions had the opportunity to address the code group directly.

And both Jersey and the Isle of Man were delighted to get the chance to have their say.
