Ponte retains Elliott Cup with an impressive victory

Aimee PonteAIMEE PONTE retained the Elliott Cup thanks to a fine win over Channel Islands women’s champion Jan Chamberlain at L’Ancresse.

The Royal Guernsey Ladies’ Section scratch knockout has been played over the summer and involved the majority of the island’s top women players.

Ponte (pictured) had to overcome tough opposition in Sally Ingrouille, Mandy Webber and Sue Wellfair to make the final, while Chamberlain also had tricky rounds against Beki Le Cheminant, Carol Wood and Joan Bichard to reach the showdown for the cup.
