‘GFSC needs guidelines to keep pace’

IT IS imperative for the finance industry that the regulator works with up-to-date guidelines, the chairman of the Institute of Directors has said.
Mark Thompson (pictured) said he was in absolute agreement with comments made by Chief Minister Lyndon Trott at the annual IoD debate last week.
Deputy Trott revealed that the States is to play a greater part in saying how the finance industry’s regulatory process is handled.
He said the States was working on the wording of an updated direction of regulatory objectives for the Guernsey Financial Services Commission.
