Bobby dazzles his Guernsey fan base
Wednesday 13th October 2010, 2:29PM BST.
DARTS LEGEND Bobby George (pictured) beat Le Coq du Nord’s Billy Baird in Friday night’s exhibition match at the Hampshire Lodge.
Baird beat Jimmy Miller of the Mariner’s Inn 5-2 in the John Smith’s Players Darts Final earlier in the evening to set up the tie with George, to whom he predictably lost 2-0.
‘The Dazzler’ also took time out to speak to the audience, share banter and answer questions. He also played a select few members of the audience in a series of one-legged matches, winning them all.
Baird spoke of his delight at facing a player of George’s stature, describing it as a ‘once-in-a-lifetime experience’.
