A MEDAL in Delhi may yet be within Guernsey’s reach.

Adam and Peter Jory fired their way into sixth place in the pairs full bore yesterday and initially to within two points of the bronze medal position.

In stage three at 900 yards Adam’s 74 and four V-bulls and Peter’s 75 and 6 V-bulls gave the Sarnians a combined score of 149, the second highest of the morning behind leaders Australia.

But four teams were controversially allowed to re-shoot last night after complaining about a target malfunction, meaning the Jorys’ new elevated position suffered as they were pushed down to ninth by Wales, Canada and South Africa benefiting from far easier conditions. The Jorys are now three points off bronze.
