Gold-plated? Most receive £14k or less
Friday 15th October 2010, 11:30AM BST.

And 75% get less than £14,000 a year from the States final salary pension scheme.
Details of the under-fire arrangements were released by States head of HR and development Simon Elliott to highlight his view, which was backed by UK pension reviewer Lord Hutton, that final salary pensions are not necessarily ‘gold-plated’.
Lord Hutton recently released his initial report on the set-up of UK public sector pensions. He announced his belief that final salary schemes were not sustainable and made it clear he would make alternative recommendations when his final report is released early next year.
However, he criticised pension provisions made within the private sector and said he would not consent to a ‘race to the bottom’ when it came to pension standards.
