Lighter touch on governance ‘will give Guernsey an edge’

CONSULTATION with industry has resulted in a much leaner and simpler second draft of corporate governance rules for Guernsey’s financial services sector, according to its author.

Carol Goodwin, who led the practitioner working party behind it in conjunction with the Guernsey Financial Services Commission, told an audience of 220 at the last Collas Day autumn seminar series event that she believed the latest version, which is 14 pages long as opposed to the previous 23, was greatly improved.

‘It’s much shorter, snappier, kinder and gentler.

‘It’s now much more proportionate to Guernsey.’
