Sheffield send a strong eight

Adam Shorto GUERNSEY’S snooker players are preparing for their biggest match of the season as they take on Sheffield’s finest this weekend.

Two eight-man teams, both captained by Adam Shorto (pictured), face the English side which features England internationals, firstly in a friendly tonight followed by the main event of the Challenge Cup tomorrow.

Four of Guernsey’s side will play in both matches, while the other four will change in order to give as many players as possible the chance, as Shorto explained.

‘It gives the chance to players knocking on the door of the island team,’ he said.
