GUERNSEY might be among the teams propping up the medals table, but the Sarnians have done themselves proud both in and out of the sporting arena in India.

Chef de mission David Harry believes Guernsey have conducted themselves superbly in the Athletes Village and around the various sporting venues, while acquitting themselves well in competition, whether it be going a round further than expected, or setting new PBs and island records.

‘The behaviour of our team has been impeccable,’ said Harry.

‘They have been outward going and very friendly to their fellow athletes and are easily recognised in their Guernsey tracksuits.

‘Lots of them have been supporting people in other events when they are not busy competing, which is good to see.’
