THE island’s Trefoil Guilds held a thanksgiving service yesterday to celebrate 100 years of Girlguiding.

Past and present Guides filled Town Church for the afternoon service, which was led by the Dean of Guernsey, Canon the Very Rev. Paul Mellor and the Rev. Linda Le Vasseur, Guide chaplain.

There were readings from South-west England Trefoil Guild county chairwoman Ann Bushell and Michelle Brouard, the Bailiwick Guide Commissioner.

Prayers were led by Guernsey Trefoil Guild vice-president Elizabeth Razzak.
