Tickets go on sale today for the draw on 16 December with a top prize of at least £300,000.
All proceeds of the lottery, which has generated more than £2.1m. in the last 36 years, are donated to a selection of local charities chosen by the Association of Guernsey Charities.
Chairman David Farrimond said he was hoping to beat last year’s record draw, which raised £183,459.

PUT XMAS BACK IN TO DECEMBER – IN FACT WHY NOT CANCEL IT ALTOGETHER?

Can’t agree with cancelling Christmas, Eh but agree with your comment about December 100%.
Start the ‘festive season’ on December 1st – no Christmas adverts, displays or shop fronts until then.
With stores stocking Christmas stuff in September is it any wonder many people get sick of Christmas before November?

Getting old are we. I bet you will be down the Garden centres in November planning your christmas. I know I will be, but I dont put my decs up until 1st December, but I do need shops to provide me with them before this date.

OK MattL, but surely you agree that September is pushing it a little? I can’t believe people need 3 months to prepare!
“Getting old are we. I bet you will be down the Garden centres in November planning your christmas.” – nope, will get the decorations down from the loft when December comes…. ;-)

Paul. You are a month behind, it is now October.

Well spotted Matt however I was referring to the month when Christmas stuff started to appear in some local stores.
Anyway, enough of this as I am finding myself singing random Christmas songs! I hold you entirely responsible! ;-)
PS For the record, I do actually love Christmas – at Christmas time!

i think that you all are forgetting the most vitla thing – boycotting gambling. no one should gamble with their pension funds OR pocket money – children are only spending their time growing up drinking nowdays, and if one child won the grand prize i would certainly not entertain his gifts to the needy – as he obtained it in a dirty manner. shameful display of you all.
