The wet nose of the law takes to the streets of Town

POLICE dogs are being used more often in areas where anti-social behaviour is likely to occur.

Teams have been engaged in high-profile patrols in the Town area with particular emphasis on pubs and nightclubs in an effort to reduce fear of weapon crime and to detect illegal drugs.

Special Operations Inspector J. P. Le Breton said high-profile patrols made the dog teams a more effective asset.

‘It means we can target antisocial behaviour more and make use of the drug search dogs in a more passive role,’ he said.
