‘No 201, less money raised’

THE expected disbandment of 201 (Guernsey’s Own) Squadron will hamper fund-raising for the Royal Air Forces’ Association’s Wings Appeal, according to one of the organisers.
Rodney Clough, a committee member of the Guernsey branch, said he and his wife Sandra, who is also on the committee, were devastated to hear that 201’s base, RAF Kinloss, would not continue in its present form.
‘The squadron’s affiliation with Guernsey has been in place for many years and we have got to know a lot of the air crews and other members who come here on a regular basis,’ he said.
Mr Clough helps organise fund-raising for the appeal. One of the biggest events is the Battle of Britain air display, which takes place each September.
