A REGULAR visitor to the island he may be, but there is something extra special about Jorg Vonhoff’s debut in the Intertrust Guernsey International Chess Festival.

That is because he is making it alongside his 12-year-old son, Nils.

The younger generation of the family has been playing for the past six years, while his father started playing again at the same time, after a break from the board.

For Jorg, Guernsey is a regular site, as he has visited the island on ‘seven or eight occasions’, but never to play chess.
