Post to cut £3m. off its 2011 budget
Friday 22nd October 2010, 2:30PM BST.
GUERNSEY Post is to cut £3m. from its costs next year to make it more efficient and to give the fulfilment industry cheaper bulk mail prices.
So far the company has not revealed details about how it intends to make the savings. However, earlier this year former chief executive Gordon Steele said overtime would be cut and a voluntary redundancy scheme would continue.
Interim chief executive Boley Smillie (pictured) said the company was committed to cutting prices for the fulfilment industry.
That could be seen as an attempt to persuade fulfilment companies to stay here now that Jersey’s bulk mailing market has been opened up to competition.
