‘Tobacco ban does not mean death of retail’

SHOPKEEPERS must move with the times, according to one retailer who supports the ban on displaying tobacco.
John McClurey (pictured) was in Guernsey last night to give a presentation to local tobacco retailers and States members.
He has been a tobacco retailer for almost 30 years and is also a Liberal Democrat councillor in Gateshead.
He said it was not the end for retailers – and the hype that sales would fall by 40% and it would cost thousands to make necessary changes was wrong.
