Residents speak of attack fears

Saturday 23rd October 2010, 2:30PM BST.

Valnord EstateRESIDENTS of a St Peter Port estate where a man was brutally attacked say they are now worried about their own safety.

One woman, whose CCTV outside her home caught the incident on camera, described the footage as ‘sickening’. ‘It was awful the way they were kicking him.’

Linda Smith, 50, lives on Valnord Estate with her family. She put up the security system a few years ago because there was so much trouble in the area.

Other cameras can also be seen dotted around the housing complex.

Shop worker Mrs Smith said cars were often vandalised and she feared her house would be broken into. Her CCTV captured part of the attack and was passed on to the police.

I do find it funny because this has been a huge issue for a long time now and what to know why now is something only being said to have something done about it.

    Simple

Anyone caught of perpetrating such acts, not only should have the usual custodial sentences, but they should have their Guernsey local status revoked.

If we want to preserve our beautiful, but above all safe, island, then the scum need to be shipped out.

Dave Haslam, I like it! When someone now commits crime we simply make them a refugee (or homeless). I’m a little interested however in where these people should go? Are we to send them to the UK, Jersey or we could even give Australia a shot?

The only down side will be if other places adopt this genius strategy and start shipping their ‘scum’ here. We then have to hope their scum is nicer than ours.
