BELS showed the rest of local football yesterday that they are still the champions with a fine 5-1 thrashing of North.

In a battle between the big two of recent years, stand-in coach Dave Rihoy watched his side dominate, showing that St Martin’s will have to work hard for this year’s crown, after their own 6-0 victory over Vale Rec on Friday night.

Rihoy was delighted with the way the game went.

‘I thought we played some really nice stuff and scored some good goals,’ he said.

The weekend’s other two games also produced one-sided results, Rangers thrashing Sylvans 6-1, while Rovers beat Athletics 3-0.
