Former player is happy Pompey has been saved
Monday 25th October 2010, 2:29PM BST.
LOCAL fans and a former player of Portsmouth Football Club are pleased it has been saved.
It was on the brink of liquidation on Friday because, the club claimed, former owner Sacha Gaydamak had refused to sign a deal over money owed to him.
But late on Saturday an agreement was reached to sell to Balram Chainrai.
Portsmouth can now trade outside of administration and Mr Gaydamak will be paid £2.2m.by the club in instalments over the next five years.
Chris Tardif (pictured), who used to play for Portsmouth, and has recently moved back to island, was relieved to hear that a deal had been reached.
