‘It would have been nice to have been asked for our view’

Martin Ozanne GUERNSEY’S National Trust is disappointed not to have been consulted over plans to get rid of historical buildings.

Treasury and Resources’ proposals, to be debated by the States in November, ask for more discretion to allow it and Environment to sell or lease certain historic buildings.

The move aims to cut out the need for a full States report and speed up decisions each time the future of a historical site with little significance was considered.

But National Trust president Martin Ozanne (pictured) said it should have been contacted about the proposal.
