Savident and Hooper set record high score

APPELBY 8s continue to lead the Grant Thornton Indoor Cricket League Division One after a comprehensive victory over Ventricle Spouts A.
The chances of Appleby crumbling were soon diminished as Lee Savident and David Hooper hit the leagues highest partnership of 73 as the Spouts conceded a record 160 runs off the 16-over innings.
TJ Ozanne and Jeremy Frith hit 37 in vain as the Spouts finished 64 runs short on 96.
Vipers got off to winning ways and now lie second after their victory over Rovers who were in the game for long periods.
Batting first Rovers made 79 which was in no small part due to the opening partnership between Adam Martel and Garth Van Huysteen scoring 41.
