JOB cuts at Guernsey Post are inevitable, its newly-appointed chief executive said yesterday.
Speaking on the day he took over the reins, Boley Smillie (pictured) said savings had to made across the entire operation as part of his company’s drive to reduce the budget for next year by £3m.
But he would not confirm the number of jobs to go or exactly how each department would be hit.
Guernsey Post Ltd (GPL) is already said to be talking with the union and staff about how the restructuring process will work.
‘There are countless ways that we can deal with this issue,’ said Mr Smillie.
