THE LATEST piece of Guernsey Dairy machinery is being loaded onto a cargo ship in Shanghai to start its journey to Guernsey.

A £350,000 milk packaging machine has been made in China and Guernsey Dairy general manager Andrew Tabel said it would arrive in the island before Christmas.

‘It is an exciting time ahead,’ he said. ‘We currently have two milk packaging machines. The one we are replacing is actually second-hand. We bought it 10 years ago, but it is 28 years old.’

The two pieces of equipment are the largest items of machinery the company owns, and the new one is slightly bigger.
