Saints extend lead at the top

ST MARTIN’S moved six points clear of the pack yesterday as they continued their pursuit of a first championship since 2004.
Colin Fallaize’s men were far from their best, but still had enough to put four past Rovers while keeping a clean sheet at Blanche Pierre Lane to make it six wins from six league matches.
‘The game was poor and we made it hard for ourselves,’ said Saints coach Fallaize (pictured), who saw Jason Winch, Glyn Dyer, Dominic Heaume and Gez Overstall score for his side.
The other Division One match of the weekend was a far closer battle as North withstood a late comeback from Rangers to win 3-2 at St Andrew’s.
