ISLANDERS have been warned to brace themselves for more stormy weather to come.
As the high tides and gale-force winds that battered the island yesterday morning died down and a clear-up began, the Met Office warned people to expect more of the same during an unsettled week.
Winds died to Force 4 last night and a slightly increased north-east wind is expected today. Rain will ease tomorrow afternoon but that could be the calm before the storm.
‘People can expect more gale-force winds on Thursday and Saturday,’ a Met Office spokesman said.
From 9pm on Sunday until 9am yesterday, Guernsey recorded 14mm of rain, with the strongest gust of wind measuring 47 knots.

Storm? Really? What would happen if a real storm hit the island? We don’t know how lucky we are with this weather. It could be much much worse! The media do seem to blow these things out of proportion just a little bit!

Well put, Jon. In addition I don`t find 14mm rain overnight such a major deal.
