Martyn’s brilliance on the baize

MARTYN DESPERQUES hit back-to-back centuries in an incredible performance in the Image Group Premier Division.
Desperques (pictured) scored 105 followed by 122 against Ian Platt, in what is undoubtedly one of the great local sporting achievements of modern times.
It is only the second time it has ever been achieved, with Adam Shorto doing likewise in the Individual League in 2007.
The opening chance of the first frame for Desperques came after a safety battle, which he ultimately won on Monday.
