Just three vote against as Chief Pleas decides to split Seneschal’s dual role here

SARK has taken the first legislative step towards splitting the dual role of the Seneschal.

In a matter of just minutes last night Chief Pleas overwhelmingly approved changes to the Reform Law, which provide for the Seneschal’s function to be restricted to presiding over the island’s court and a separate president of the legislative assembly to be elected.

Only two members spoke against the proposal with both Conseillers Diane Baker and Sandra Williams repeating the opposition they first expressed when the matter was discussed in principle early last month.

    Sark is a changed place and not for the better, I loved sark the way it was and cant see my self visiting the place in the near future and a lot of people are saying the same.
