We could have done things in different way, OUR admits
Friday 12th November 2010, 2:29PM GMT.
OFFICE of Utility Regulation director-general John Curran admitted yesterday that regulatory processes in Guernsey could have been done differently.
His comments follow the release of a report that said regulation in both the postal and electricity markets had failed.
The authors were also highly critical of the role played by Guernsey Post and Guernsey Electricity’s shareholder, the Treasury and Resources Department, and of governance issues within the States.
Asked whether the OUR had got involved in doing too much and had failed in the mechanism through which costs were passed through to customers, Mr Curran, pictured, said: ‘Would things have been done differently now we know what we know? The obvious answer is yes.’

Voice For Victims
Voice for Victims is a campaign aimed at promoting the rights of those affected by child sexual abuse.
How many years, and how much money has his failure to realise the defects of OUR costthe Guernsey consumer?
Sounds like the cry of a drowning man.
Well, let us hope the States takes more notice of this report, and manages to take more appropriate action than they did with the report from the Welsh Audit office.

Nah! It will be debated with amendments etc if it ever comes up.
Stop debating endlessly, start looking at what serious savings your States Dept could really make!
Example the new computerised SAP (no idea what that stands for) ended up with lots of ppl being trained. What benefits, less jobs being created within Civil Service? Nope!
OUR protect your backside and work for your money please
