ABOUT 250 televisions owned by the Health and Social Services Department are being prepared for next week’s digital switchover.
HSSD assistant estates manager Andy Cloke estimated it was costing about £10,000 to prepare the hospital’s 70 properties for the switch next Wednesday.
‘It is important for patients to have television,’ he said.
‘They can feel cut off from the outside world.’
About half the televisions are at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital. Two master aerial systems were installed at the hospital in October. They cover the surgical, children’s and maternity ward, as well as radiology, accident and emergency and the medical and rehabilitation wards.

Utterly pointless article.
Isn’t it blatantly obvious that their TVs will be changed to cope with the digital switchover, or does the GP think we’re all thick?

So, its wrong to spend money on Heritage, but spending it on TV is just fine …..
At least the bowel cancer patients will be able to keep up with Eastenders ….
