CHARLIE’S Family Butchers on the Bridge served more than 100 customers yesterday, the first Sunday it had opened in more than a month.

The Bridge butchers had been forced to stay closed on Sundays after new owner Charlie Le Poidevin changed the business’s name.

He applied for a Sunday trading licence under the new name, but more than four weeks later the licence had still not been granted and he was warned it could take up to a further fortnight.

However, after the Guernsey Press made enquiries of the parish douzaine last week, the licence was granted.
