FREEZING fog caused delays and cancellations for people trying to fly from Guernsey to Southampton yesterday morning.
Poor visibility in the UK grounded some of the first scheduled flights out of the island for hours.
Flybe’s 7.10am departure to Southampton left over two hours late but was forced to return to the island after the weather failed to clear. Passengers were either moved to a later flight, rebooked for another day or offered a refund.
The Rev. Linda Le Vasseur was on the flight, travelling to attend a course near Winchester.
‘I missed the first day through ill health and I can’t get there till tonight so I am forgetting it,’ she said.
