‘Research deserves closer look’

Chris BrockTHERE could be value in the States taking a close look at a new benchmarking research service, according to two deputies who went to a presentation on it.

Public Accounts Committee chairman Deputy Leon Gallienne and Deputy Rhoderick Matthews, two of 13 deputies in attendance at the recent Island Analysis seminar, both felt that what they had heard deserved closer inspection.

The research company has spent the last three years gathering qualitative and quantitative information from more than 80 islands around the world on common external threats and similar internal problems with which small islands and jurisdictions have to contend.

Island Analysis chief executive Chris Brock (pictured) told the audience there were 31 briefing papers, which the company intended to start sending out to clients from the end of this month, and he hoped the States might be one of them.
