THE long-awaited skatepark moved a step closer yesterday as an old playground at Beau Sejour was ripped out to make way for it.

A bigger, better, combined facility has been provided for youngsters of all ages, next to the flumes.
Campaigners were on hand to watch the early preparation stages for the construction. And, for Guernsey Xtreme Sports Association committee member PJ De La Mare, this first physical sign of progress, marked a special moment.
‘At long last it’s finally happening,’ he said.
