THERE has been widespread sympathy across local football at the decision for Athletics to fold in only their second season since re-forming.
The club will merge with Rovers to form Rovers Athletics from next season, while they have withdrawn from all GFA competitions this season, with their results being expunged.

Their coach, Carl Le Tissier (pictured), admits that it is a case of wait and see to see how the merger works out.
‘Obviously, we are disappointed that they have folded,’ he said.
