John MoultonPRIVATE equity bosses Jon Moulton and Guy Hands have joined forces on a Guernsey property deal.

The pair, both of whom have homes in the island, have purchased a couple of fields and a number of small land strips near the Bon Port Hotel in St Martin’s.

The deal, which went through at the start of October, cost the financial heavyweights in the region of £75,000.

A deal to buy the Bon Port Hotel also went through at the end of last month and saw mother and daughter Vivien and Alison Haynes pay £1.73m. for the 22-bedroomed property.

When approached by the Guernsey Press, Mr Moulton (pictured), chairman of the Guernsey-based private equity firm Better Capital, would not be drawn on whether he and Mr Hands, the chairman of private equity giant Terra Firma, were interested in buying the hotel before it was sold, but was happy to confirm the local link with his friend.
