Friday 19th November 2010, 2:29PM GMT.
CHRIS SIMPSON fell at the first hurdle in the Dutch Open in Rotterdam last night.
The Guernseyman kept sixth seed Simon Rosner on court for well over an hour, but eventually succumbed in four tight games 13-11, 11-9, 9-11, 11-7.
The German, who at 23 is the same age as Simpson, is currently ranked at a career-high No. 33 in the world while the Sarnian is 51st.
Simpson now has the richest event of all-time – the $327,500 Saudi PSA World Open Championship – to look forward to at the start of next month.
