Guernseyman is brains behind £12m. bank fraud

A GUERNSEY teenager faces years behind bars after admitting masterminding an online bank fraud potentially totalling £12m.
Nick Webber, 19, ran internet crime forum GhostMarket.Net, which sold stolen credit card details and offered instructions about conducting a range of crimes from hacking into bank accounts to manufacturing the drug crystal meth.
Webber, who has family in the island, was caught with the details of 100,000 credit cards on his laptop, representing a potential loss of £12m. to credit card companies.
Webber, of Cavendish Road, Southsea, admitted conspiracy to commit fraud, conspiracy to make or supply articles for use in fraud and encouraging or assisting offences. He was remanded in custody until his sentencing early next year.
