Airport closed following smoke alert
Thursday 25th November 2010, 12:03PM GMT.
Guernsey Airport was closed this morning when an aircraft reported smoke in the cabin.
A press release from the airport said that the incident happened shortly after 10:15 while the aircraft was taxi-ing.
As a precaution the aircraft stopped on the taxiway and airport fire crews attended.
Passengers on board were returned to the terminal and there were no reported injuries.
The airport reopened shortly before midday.

Well if it was Flybe even with all this I bet they were never given a complimentary drink of water.

Conrad
I think you’ll find the plane didnt acctually take off, nor was it stationary for the minimum two hours, hence no-one qualified for a free drink of water.
I was at the airport when this happened. The passengers did receive vouchers for food and drinks from Flybe. Simon is partially right and the aircraft didn’t take off, and instead had to wait for the inbound aircraft.
