GUERNSEY hybrid team Indies/Puffins suffered an agonisingly close defeat in the final of the Channel Islands Club Championship.
Only three Sarnian hockey sides travelled to take on their Caesarean counterparts due to availability and/or injuries – Panthers, with help from a couple of Vixens, the Indies/Puffins combination and one of Amazons/Cubs.
All three had a good mixture of experienced players and juniors, which made for some very strong teams.
Amazons/Cubs won two out of their three matches, with most of their goals coming courtesy of Debbie Allen, and were through to the second semi-final against the Jersey team RWB.
