Belief is key to my success

HAVING belief, a passion for business and a clear vision of where you want to go with it is the bedrock of running any successful company, according to Healthspan and Blue Islands boss Derek Coates.

The entrepreneur gave an insight into his business journey while delivering the keynote speech at this year’s Chamber of Commerce small business seminar.

The event, which was sponsored by NatWest and attracted 60 Guernsey businesses, looked at how to get the best value out of marketing, advertising and PR and money matters.

Mr Coates (pictured) opened the event by detailing his journey from being born in Yorkshire to running his own airline and a company that sells more than a billion health-related capsules and tablets a year.
