Guernseyman helps sink the Sarnians
Monday 29th November 2010, 2:29PM GMT.
FORMER Guernsey cueing star Mick Le Noury (pictured) potted a decisive black for his adopted Jersey as the Sarnians lost the men’s inter-insular pool match.
The clash was played as part of the CI International Pool tournament.
Guernsey A began solidly against Jersey A, and although the match was tight, they moved into a 5-4 lead.
A slice of fortune or a ball missed here or there then cost the team dearly as Jersey suddenly went 6-5 up.
Playing matches on two tables, scores can quickly swing either way and this happened here as, within the blink of an eye, 6-5 became 8-5 and the points for this match went to the home team.
