Both players returned to Port Soif last week following a spell at St Martin’s and yesterday both got a taste of the action in a hugely comfortable win for the home side against what was basically Sylvans’ second string – Dorey for the whole 90 minutes and Ellis as a second half substitute.

It really was as straightforward as the scoreline suggests for Mac Gallienne’s men, who could have had a hatful more goals as they marched into the second round of the Clydesdale Bank International Guernsey FA Cup.

Chances created on their part must have been pushing up towards the half-century mark, such was their dominance.
