Woman stabs ex-husband and girlfriend

The Foresters' Arms, where an encounter with her ex-husband and his girlfriend led to Jeanette Gardner stabbing them.
A WOMAN who stabbed her ex-husband and his girlfriend after a chance meeting in a pub has been jailed for seven years.
Jeanette Gardner, 53, admitted two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
She attacked Keith Gardner and Sandra Forsey after running into them in the Foresters Arms pub early on 1 August.
Advocate Sam Maindonald, defending, said that Gardner had suffered domestic abuse during her marriage, which might explain her extreme reaction.
Judge Russell Finch said that the court was not in a position to judge those not before it. But the court noted Gardner’s previous good character and early guilty pleas, for which her sentence was reduced by a third.

So a guy walks into a bar, gets stabbed and then is branded as an abuser in the front of the press!Bet he’ll be glad to see 2010 come to an end a!

That is horrible.
It is not nice.

She gets 7 years for stabbing and i can recall a certain person getting the same sentence for killing his mum a few years back dont seem right to me.
I say the sentence should have been longer. There are no mitigating circumstances for stabbing two people.

She says that she stabbed him in part because of the apparent way he treated her while they were together? so what was the excuse for stabbing the girl? pathetic.

I think you guys need to do some research, for example
” Crimes Passionnel”
A crime of passion, in popular usage, refers to a crime in which the perpetrator commits a crime, especially assault or murder, against someone because of sudden strong impulse such as sudden rage or heartbreak rather than as a premeditated crime. A typical crime of passion might involve an aggressive pub-goer who assaults another guest following an argument or a husband who discovers his wife has made him a cuckold and proceeds to brutally batter or even kill his wife or the man with whom she was involved.
In some countries, notably France, crime passionnel (or crime of passion) was a valid defense during murder cases; during the 19th century, some cases could be a custodial sentence for two years for the murderer, while the spouse was dead

P B Falla – all very interesting, except for the fact that a “crime of passion” is not recognised in Guernsey law.
with posts like that, it is no wonder that people are stopping reading your contributions in their droves

I look forward to P B Falla posts. I suspect he is Arnold?
If not, it would appear as though there is another poster with a decent sense of humour.
Paul, I agree – although I confess I am still trying to work out whether P B is nutty as a fruit cake or TIG’s very own satirical comedian.
I hope it’s the latter!

Not me. Not my style. I use more words.

Or could PB Falla be our old friend Eric perhaps ?
I agree that it cannot possibly be Arnald. Apart from some of Arnald’s more extreme rants, he’s clearly far more normal and intelligent than PB Falla!

After years of emotional trauma with a man, any woman should understand these actions. France has a much more humane understanding of this sort of crime.

Wow
I’m so happy that in my 3 or 4 posts earlier in the year I made such an impression as to actually be remembered on here.
Although I do worry that anyone that would remember me after about 6 months away seriously needs to get a hobby of some description.
Trust me, if I was going to use an alias, I would have some some comment along the lines of “typical Guerns cant keep from trying to kill each other”! :-)

this was clearly a pre meditated attack on 2 people having an enjoyable day night out. This women fistly attacks the girl with no provacation then goes to get aknife and lie in wait for the victims and attack them she knew exactly what she was doing as she told police she wanted them off the planet when arrested. The law is definitly an ass she admitted to the crime and gets third off her sentence so with remission for good behaviour will be released in what 4.5 years what a joke. This women should be locked up for at least the full 7 years.
Where is the justice for the victims the accused admits guilt and can say what she likes against the victims as they are not called to court to put their story over this surely needs to change the victims of crime lose out in more ways than the actual crime especially when the press reports the court case and only put the accuseds story out.
