Lightning knocks out power, sets shed alight
Tuesday 30th November 2010, 2:30PM GMT.
ACCOUNTANT Robert Bickley’s world was plunged into darkness, smoke and noise when a lightning strike fried his home’s electrics and burnt down his shed.
He fears he could now be facing a bill of more than £10,000.
Mr Bickley, 41 (pictured), was watching TV at his home at Les Hurettes, St Martin’s, at around 8pm on Friday when the storm hit.
‘I had heard rumblings and saw the snow half an hour before,’ he said. ‘Then all of a sudden there was a massive bang.
‘I thought the house had taken a direct hit – the TV went out, the lights went out, I could hear the fire alarms going off and there was smoke coming out of everywhere.’

I think the shed story is better because it has a nice pretty picture with snow in it, and we dont get that very often.
