New Africa charity goal is £50,000 to help orphans

A NEW charity has been set up to help orphans in South Africa.
Nigel Pascoe (pictured), director of lending for Skipton International, visited the country earlier this year and was shown a soccer academy and a prison.
He met Mario van Niekerk, a reformed gangster, who runs the GCU Christian Soccer Academy in the Cape Flats, near Cape Town.
‘Mario also wanted to set up an orphanage, but cannot get the money or the support,’ said Mr Pascoe, 51. ‘That is why I have set up Goal 50.’ Mr Pascoe wants to try to raise £50,000 for the orphanage through donations.
