THE Channel Islands men’s tennis team have won promotion from Aegon Winter Cup Division Six.
The seven-strong team included three Guernseymen in Patrick Ogier, Rob West and Nico Robinson and all played their part in three victories in Sunderland over the weekend.
‘We were pretty hopeful of getting promoted as we did so in the summer version of the competition, although the format for that is based on doubles whereas this one is more singles,’ said West.
‘We just took care of business really. Everyone played well and we were just kind of relieved at the end of it.’
